Nittaku Escuder II

The Nittaku Escuder 2 is a classic defensive table tennis blade crafted for players who excel in a controlled, defensive game but also require the ability to execute precise blocks and occasional attacks. This blade features a 5-ply construction with two inner Kevlar layers, which provide a subtle increase in stiffness compared to purely all-wood defensive blades. The Kevlar reinforcement enhances the sweet spot, offering greater consistency and accuracy during blocking and shooting, while still retaining the necessary flexibility for generating spin on defensive chops and pushes. Weighing approximately 85 grams and with a blade thickness of 5.4 mm, the Escuder 2 is lightweight and maneuverable, reducing fatigue during long rallies. The large head size of 166mm by 156mm contributes to a larger hitting area, further improving forgiveness and stability. The blade comes pre-sealed from the factory, with a recommendation to renew the sealant every 2-3 rubber changes, ensuring durability and ease of rubber removal. Available in Flared (FL) and Straight (ST) handle types, it suits a wide range of grip preferences. Its overall feel is soft and flexible, classifying it firmly in the DEF category, making it an excellent choice for modern defenders who prioritize control, placement, and spin variation over raw speed. The Escuder 2 is a reliable weapon for players who build their game around consistency, tactical intelligence, and the ability to turn defense into offense with sudden, precisely placed counter-attacks.
